June 20th - August 5th

2011

Creative Music & Arts is our largest and most popular camp. Located at Marie Murphy School in Wilmette, three age appropriate groups (30-42 mos) (3-5 yrs) (4-7yrs) rotate daily between outside playtime, music & art. What’s particularly nice about a CKC camp experience is that siblings can attend together, spending time with each other  at both the beginning and ending free play segment, as well as participate on a level specifically suited to their needs in small group rotations. (Adult/toddler music class schedules for the wee little ones become available in early spring, making this an ideal one stop summer home.)

Each week a new theme excites, educates and engages us all!  Creative and thoughtful activities revolve around these building blocks, promising a rich, multi-disciplinary playground  for learning. Award winning children’s literature, drama skits  and guest visitors may also accentuate the experience.

In the spirit of summer, outdoor play is largely open-ended. Options include sand and water play, chalk  and ball play, playground enjoyment and a very large and open green space for just enough group games to encourage social development. On rainy or excessively hot days the campers enthusiastically play in the gym or in an air conditioned classroom. Closure at the end of the day includes a healthy snack, beverage and warm good bye’s. We’re very aware that your child may not always share their daily experiences with you which is why a weekly newsletter highlighting the weeks activities is sent via email. And the response we’ve received from this communication piece makes it all worthwhile.

Our youngest group Lil Sprouts (30-42 mos) is often a first time experience for both the child and parent. This camp is meant for children who are ready for separation. By this we mean that they are children  who exhibit the signs of wanting to be autonomous, seeking new adventures, and playmates. CKC  has many stories of successful separations. By working closely with you to better understand your child, we become partners in this process.

Children are not required to be potty trained.

This camp meets Mon/Wed  from 9:30-12:00  Fee: $450

(3-5 yrs) and (4-7yrs) These campers each arrive bringing  their own artistic voice to the group. Each week they will encounter new challenges, developing  their artistic expression and basic skills in singing, dancing, role playing, painting, art composition and language arts. Children are encouraged to be physically active, curious and  inventive, kindhearted and friendly. Did we forget to mention silly? The days adventures are never dull or boring.
